Director of Sales and Client Support


Survey 160 seeks a full-time Director of Sales and Client Support. Survey 160 is a research and technology company that builds and uses proprietary software to conduct live interviewer SMS and text-to-web surveys on elections, public policy, and other topics. In addition to this full-service offering, Survey 160 offers a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) self-service product offering.

The Director of Sales and Client Support will have two primary responsibilities: generating new sales for both the full- and self-service lines of business, and providing client support for SaaS clients. Through this work, you will help Survey 160 achieve its mission of providing accurate and actionable public opinion research at affordable costs. 

The role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States within reasonable proximity to a major airport. Travel is expected as part of this role to support sales efforts at conferences and other in-person meetings, approximately 20% of time depending on location. This is a permanent role as we seek to grow our team.

This position is ideal for candidates with 3+ years experience in sales at a survey, analytics, or SaaS firm. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about survey research, methodological innovation and advancing progressive values.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with leadership to develop and execute a new business sales strategy, especially for corporate clients

  • Build new relationships within different verticals to generate sales for Survey 160’s full-service and self-service lines of business.

  • Prepare documentation and support materials.

  • Provide user training and onboarding support for new clients.

  • Respond to user support inquiries, and liaise with the software development team to solve users’ onboarding/technical problems as needed. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+years of experience in sales within the survey or market-research industry.

  • Self-starter who can build relationships within new business verticals.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, especially in writing appropriate to be delivered to a client. 

  • Ability to work well with remote colleagues.

  • Problem-solving, critical thinking & communication skills.

  • Highest degree of integrity, specifically with respect to access to sensitive client information/data.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience providing client support for a SaaS platform.

  • Demonstrated success with startups transitioning to more established, operating businesses.

LOCATION

Survey 160 is a fully remote company, though all applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and be able to virtually meet with other team members during US time zone working hours. Additionally, for this role we are seeking someone located within a reasonable proximity to a major airport.



COMPENSATION 

The base salary range is between $65,000 and $85,000, though we expect supplemental income from commissions to be a very significant share of this role’s compensation, with an uncapped upper limit based on performance.
